New Boat

Well after much thought I finally purchased a boat. You see the reason I hesitated so long is because I live in the city in an apartment and have no place to store a boat and trailer. I would also have to get a hitch for my Jetta, not exactly the best vehicle for towing anyway, so what to do ? I knew I wanted a "Real" boat not some little recreational floating device, so that added to my problem, then it hit me, why not an Inflatable. I immediately realized that I was now faced with dozens of companies that each make dozens of models so where to start ?

I wanted something that was NOT made in China, no offense but I wanted to get back to shore in one piece and China's manufacturing reputation has been established. My first instinct was the famous Zodiac brand which is from France or should I say was manufactured in France, much to my dismay however, 90% of new Zodiacs are made where...China ! Zodiac and most other big names such as Avon(UK) or Mercury(US) now make all their boats in China except for their high-end models and I'm not paying 20K and up for a Dinghy !

Just as I thought my plans were foiled and I would have to settle for a China made boat I discovered an up and coming player in the inflatable boat world, BRIG. BRIG inflatables were not only less expensive and more well equipped than other comparable boats, they were made in Europe, albeit the Ukraine...but it's still better than China ! BRIG was started by former Soviet Aerospace engineers so I figured they should be able to make an inflatable boat...right ? The product reviews and reputation among dealers was another factor that sold me, so I am now the proud owner of a BRIG and am very satisfied, plus I can store it in my closet...not bad !

Here is a short video of my boat in action with a 1985 Evinrude 10hp and she moves pretty good ;) Enjoy and please share your comments with us.
